Job summary

Hope For Youth, Inc. seeks a Residential Caseworker to support adolescents and young adults in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, plan services with families, and accompany youth on home and community visits.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, documentation, team meetings, and ongoing training. A Bachelor's in social work, valid NYS driver's license, and strong writing/time-management skills are required; bilingual candidates are encouraged.

Job description

Hope For Youth's Residential Services provides 24/7, trauma-informed care to adolescents and young adults involved with the child welfare, juvenile justice, and runaway/homeless youth systems across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

As a Residential Caseworker in our Adolescent Diagnostic and Respite Services program, you'll help youth build strengths, maintain family and community connections, and move toward greater stability. Responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, youth- and family-driven service planning, home and community visits, crisis support, documentation, resource coordination, and participation in treatment team meetings.

We welcome candidates who bring professional expertise, compassion, and/or relevant lived experience to this work.

• Function within the agency policy and procedures as outlined in the program practice guide and employee manual.
• Obtaining necessary documentation to prepare psychosocial assessments and final reviews
• Preparing case updates and psychosocial assessments; home visits; parent and youth interviews
• Supervising and documenting of family visits; progress notes
• Preparing incident reports and notifications, as needed
• Supporting the overall functioning of the program and residents from a trauma informed perspective
• Perform other resulting and necessary work to meet the needs and requirements of the clients, the program, Hope For Youth, oversight agency and any other regulatory obligations

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field

• Flexibility to work varied schedules when needed

Physical Requirements:

Ability to complete reports and logs, sit/stand for long periods, climb stairs, and drive regularly for work.

Full-Time 35hrs/ week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with flexible late day.
