Qualifications

• Master's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Corrections or Guidance and Counseling, plus 2 years' Social Service Worker experience.
• Or Bachelor's degree with 5 years' Social Service Worker experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, instructs and orients Social Service Workers in casework techniques and procedures.
• Advises SSWs on investigation and analysis of more difficult cases.
• Reviews and evaluates casework studies through reports, conferences and observed results.
• Coordinates data for grant reporting submissions.
• Approves recommendations of caseworkers before submitting reports.
• Coordinates activities of SSWs with other social agencies.
• Keeps abreast of professional development in the field.
• Ensures all program activities adhere to applicable laws and department requirements.
• Maintains professional relationships with community agencies.
• Prepares periodic and special reports of cases investigated.
• May maintain a caseload on the department assigned.

Education

Master's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Corrections or Guidance and Counseling

Bachelor's degree in any field with 5 years' experience as a Social Service Worker
