Job summary

The Salvation Army A Georgia Corp in North Port, FL is seeking a Case Worker for our Emergency Financial Assistance program. This full-time position supports clients by assessing needs, collecting documents, and coordinating resources under the direction of the Director of Social Services.

You will conduct pre-screen interviews, make 20–35 outreach calls weekly, attend community meetings, and document family information in our databases while advocating for clients to prevent crises.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework in Social Work or related field.
• Two years experience in social/public service or equivalent.
• Level 2 background screening required per Florida Clearinghouse guidelines

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-screen phone interviews to determine initial eligibility for program enrollment based on guidelines.
• Makes 20-35 calls per week depending on available appointments.
• Meets with clients to discuss needs and collect required paperwork; reviews documents.
• Attends community meetings to educate partners about the program and make referrals.
• Ensures completion of client applications to determine eligibility and establish needs.
• Inputs family information into databases and keeps records up to date.

Schedule/Hours: 37.5 Hours Monday - Friday 8AM - 4 PMThis positions main location will be located at our North Port office.Monitors caseload of clients participating in an Emergency Financial Assistance program. The Case Worker is responsible for administering emergency financial assistance through a variety of resources under the direction of the Director of Social Services. Serves as an advocate for client in order to acquire services that will prevent further crisis prevention services.Key Responsibilities:Conducts pre-screen phone interviews to determine initial eligibility for program enrollment based on the established guidelines and requirements. Makes at least 20-35 calls a week depending on the number of available appointments for the following week.Meets with clients to discuss need and complete required paperwork; Collects and reviews all necessary documents from EFA clients either via email or in-person.Attends community meetings with representatives of other agencies in order to educate them about the program, make client referrals and maintain awareness of client's progress.Ensures completion of client application to determine eligibility and establish the needs.Inputs family information into various databases and checks existing information in said databases, updating if necessary.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.Duties are usually performed seated.
