Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Pineville, NC, is seeking a PADLOCK / CASE SEALER OPERATOR to support finishing operations. You will stack cases, check carton quality, stretch wrap pallets, and print/load tickets to ensure accurate shipment readiness.

This manufacturing role requires reliable attendance, the ability to work 8-hour shifts, overtime including weekends, and the stamina to perform repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret data.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with concrete variables.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Stacks cartons from conveyor and stacks onto pallets.
  • Checks cartons for quality and proper labeling.
  • Stretch wraps pallets for finished goods inventory.
  • Prints and places load tickets on each case/pallet.
  • Assist during breaks and hand-pack into corrugated cases.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

PADLOCK / CASE SEALER OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY:

Stacks cases from conveyor for finished goods. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities Are, But Not Limited To The Following
  • Picks up cartons from conveyor and stacks onto pallets
  • Check cartons for quality
  • Stretch wrap pallets for finished goods inventory
  • Print and place load tickets on each case / pallet
  • Assist Feeder/Packers
    • Assist during breaks
    • Hand pack into corrugated cases
    • Manual sorting for defective jobs
  • Other duties as assigned.
Background / Experience
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Skills
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • REASONING ABILITY
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • MECHANICAL
Education / Knowledge
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
Essential Job Functions
  • SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Schedules are 8-hour shifts (M-F). 3rd shift schedule is (Sun-Th).
  • Employees are required to work overtime to include up to 12-hour shifts including weekends.
  • Employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements
  • Ability to bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push/pull, twist and perform robotic motions continuously
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. continuously and up to 74 lbs. frequently
  • Requires use of both feet on a continuous basis
  • Requires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions on a continuous basis
  • Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basis
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature
  • PPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net, Beard Net
