Job summary

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or administrative field.
  • Requires 2 years relevant experience working with youth or young adults or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with databases; intermediate level experience with Outlook and Word required.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, provide case management services to clients, draw upon clients’ strengths to inform service planning, advocate on behalf of clients, collaborate with other service providers, and manage crisis situations. Provide administrative support to programs by maintaining client files, entering data, and completing required documentation.

General Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services for youth to include community resources, and assistance with internal and external referrals for medical, parenting, employment, and housing needs.
  • Duties may include intake, case management, monitoring, group facilitation, and resource referrals.
  • Practices the Trauma‑Informed Care Model using the strengths‑based approach.
  • Serves as a positive role model for youth and staff. Engages with youth in a respectful manner and makes them feel welcome.
  • Ensures the safety and basic needs of the youth are met in an appropriate and caring manner.
  • Continually and creatively promotes keywords of Safe, Clean, Productive, and Fun and are incorporated in all aspects of campus life for engaged youth.
  • Identify and leverage clients’ strengths as part of service planning to help clients achieve their self‑defined goals.
  • Collaborate with various community programs and agencies to advocate for client population needs and provide referrals.
  • Communicate with members of the community, colleagues, and clients effectively and efficiently.
  • Effectively manage crisis situations through assessing, deciding, and acting in accordance with standards and laws in emergency situations involving the health and safety of client being compromised.
  • Maintain case records and documentation as appropriate, including service plans, progress notes, intake reports, and incident reports.
  • Analyze situations within the setting taking into consideration the client, policies, safety, and staff to determine the best course of action.
  • Transport clients to agencies and services, as needed.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities or special projects, as necessary.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or administrative field.
  • Requires 2 years relevant experience working with youth or young adults or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with databases; intermediate level experience with Outlook and Word required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas driver’s license within 30 days and provide proof of valid insurance.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Certification as required by individual programs.
  • Must be certified in “Handle with Care” (HWC) as required by the program.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Frequently required to sit or stand, use manual dexterity, speak, listen, hear, and write.
  • Works in an office or indoor environment with little or occasional light physical effort, and moderate noise.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
  • At a minimum, 50% local metro travel required, including transporting clients, participating in community outreach programs, attending meeting and training opportunities.
