Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. seeks qualified professionals to deliver counseling and program services to inmates and detainees. You will interview new admissions, provide orientation, and offer individual counseling on work, housing, and family issues.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, required.
Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, criminal justice or related field preferred.
Corrections population experience and substance abuse treatment experience desired.
Organized with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

Interview newly admitted inmates/detainees.
Conduct facility orientation for new inmates/detainees on rules, services, and procedures.
Provide individual counseling on work and housing assignments and family issues.
Resolve day-to-day counseling problems by referring to professional staff.
Monitor custody, housing, job, and program assignments for timely reviews.
Visit inmates/detainees in caseloads in special housing.
Review medical status to determine eligibility for work volunteer jobs.
