The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping residents of Nueces County living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people annually with psychiatric and behavioral health outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care, and more.

Salary: Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $22.20 to $24.62. The salary offered will typically follow the starting salary guidelines, which are usually at or near the minimum of the range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum depending on applicable experience and qualifications.
General Description
Under supervision of the IDD Intake, Eligibility, & Continuity Program Supervisor, the successful candidate will complete screening and intake for admissions into IDD services. Responsibilities include community outreach and education with area school districts and through community health fairs and programs. The role involves collaboration with the Aging and Disability Resources Center for screening and intake assistance, providing information about community resources, screening for crises, making appropriate referrals, managing HCS and TxHmL Interest Lists for Nueces County, and coordinating with psychologists for eligibility determinations.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, liability insurance, and a good driving record, as personal vehicle use may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum: A bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university, or an associate degree in a social, behavioral, human service, or health-related field such as psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, education, or criminal justice.
Preferred: A bachelor's or higher degree in a related field, experience with the IDD population and/or direct care, case management experience, customer service experience, and Spanish language skills are preferred.
