Job summary

Mono County is seeking a case manager to provide counseling and case management in behavioral health services, including mental health and substance use disorder care. You will assess client needs, develop and monitor treatment plans, and support rehabilitation as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities include conducting client intakes, evaluating treatment progress, maintaining records, coordinating services, and connecting clients with community resources. The role also involves community outreach, organizing events and programs, facilitating wellness activities, and representing the department in community partnerships and committees. Candidates should have skills in communication, documentation, collaboration, and maintaining client confidentiality

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a compassionate, organized, and driven professional who is committed to supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. They are eager to learn, adaptable to change, and skilled at building strong rapport with diverse populations. This person provides culturally responsive care, collaborates with partner agencies, and works well as part of a team. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. This role may include providing services in a county jail setting, so candidates must be comfortable working in a correctional environment. Candidates who are not yet certified must be willing to begin the Substance Use Disorder counselor certification process within the first six (6) months of employment.

The Behavioral Health Department works collaboratively to support the mental health and well-being of individuals and families throughout Mono County. Minimum Qualifications
All three levels:

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities might be:

Two (2) years of experience which would have provided a high degree of insight into individual or group problems such as mental health, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, elders, or domestic relations.

OR

Upper division college courses in community resources, human services, behavioral sciences or other related fields.
