Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to support children and families within Florida’s child welfare system. You will manage a caseload, coordinate services, and document progress in FSFN to help achieve permanency and safety goals.

You will conduct safety assessments, develop family-centered case plans, attend court activities, and collaborate with guardians, foster parents, and providers to promote timely outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field. Degree in Social Work preferred.
• Must have a minimum of one year of relevant experience and achieve child welfare certification within one year of hire.
• Familiarity with and ability to use Microsoft Office programs Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a caseload of children and families and ensures dependency milestones are achieved timely and with a high degree of quality.
• Accepts cases assigned by unit supervisor and assesses the safety of children in their primary residence within two working days of case transfer staffing.
• Negotiate and develop a case plan through Family Team Conferencing based on identified strengths and needs of the family, with reunification or other permanency goal.
• Visits the child in their primary residence according to required frequency, but no less than once every 25 days; at least one unannounced visit quarterly.
• Accurately documents all case activities in the FSFN database within 48 hours; maintain the physical case file in order.
• Submit service requests to the lead agency and provide clients with timely referrals; maintain knowledge of resources and progress in FSFN.
