Texas State Technical College (TSTC) seeks a Case Manager for the CARE Team to assess student needs, triage complex situations, and coordinate timely referrals to campus and community resources to support wellbeing, safety, and academic success.

The Case Manager, CARE Team reports to the Manager of the CARE Team and is responsible for assessing student needs, triaging complex situations, and coordinating timely referrals to campus and community resources. This role serves as a primary connector between students and the support services necessary to address wellbeing, behavioral, safety, academic, and basic needs concerns. The Case Manager provides direct case management services that promote student success, persistence, and retention through coordinated intervention and support efforts.
The position requires a strong understanding of student support services, behavioral intervention principles, campus resources, and community partnerships. Working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, campus leaders, and external organizations, the Case Manager assists in identifying barriers to success, facilitating access to appropriate resources, and supporting students through complex and sensitive situations. The role contributes to the mission of the College through professionalism, sound judgment, collaboration, and consistent delivery of quality services and outcomes.
The Target Hiring Range for the position is $ 57,542 - $62,000
The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education where appropriate, consistent with TSTC's equivalency philosophy.
Effectively communicates with students, campus partners, and external organizations to support timely and accurate case management activities. Serves as a primary point of contact for students, ensuring communication is clear, compassionate, and consistent while guiding students to appropriate resources and next steps. Adapts communication styles to meet the needs of diverse populations and promotes collaboration that supports coordinated care and student success.
Demonstrates strong understanding of student support systems, campus resources, institutional policies, and case management practices. Applies professional knowledge to assess student situations, identify appropriate interventions, and coordinate support across multiple departments and community partners. Maintains current knowledge of student services, behavioral intervention strategies, and higher education practices to support effective problem-solving and service delivery.
Takes ownership of assigned cases and student outcomes by ensuring timely follow-up, accurate documentation, and coordinated support efforts. Demonstrates accountability for case management activities, referral processes, and communication with stakeholders. Maintains a proactive, solution-focused approach that promotes student success and addresses barriers to persistence.
Builds strong collaborative relationships with campus departments, statewide partners, and community organizations to support student needs. Promotes a culture of responsiveness, cooperation, and shared responsibility for student success. Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence by providing timely support, maintaining professional relationships, and contributing to coordinated intervention efforts that improve the student experience and persistence outcomes.

Must be reachable during business hours through standard communication channels as required by the role.
Some duties may require work outside standard business hours during peak operational periods, student emergencies, critical incidents, or time-sensitive response situations.
Full-time, FLSA-exempt position.
Periodic in-state travel to campuses or meetings beyond the employee's designated or nearest base campus may be required based on business needs and will comply with TSTC and State of Texas requirements.
Position requires sustained attention to confidential, sensitive, and high-impact student matters.
