Polston Tax Resolution & Accounting is seeking an experienced Enrolled Agent to join our tax-resolution team. You will handle a caseload, negotiate resolutions with state and IRS, and work remotely with support from seasoned staff.

The role requires active Enrolled Agent status and at least one year of negotiation experience. You will review clients' finances, research strategies, and communicate updates via email, phone, and video calls.

• Minimum of one year’s experience negotiating tax resolutions with the state and/or IRS.
• Strong customer service mindset and professional work ethic.

REQUIRED:

• Enrolled Agent, active status.
• Minimum of one year’s experience negotiating tax resolutions with the state and/or IRS.

What Will You Do?

Supported by experienced staff, Enrolled Agents will be part of the creative process in solving tax cases and managing an assigned caseload.

• Review a detailed financial analysis of the client’s income, expenses, and assets to determine and/or confirm qualified resolution options for client.
• Research and develop strategies to defend client’s position while considering their specific goals.
• Negotiate tax resolutions on behalf of clients with the state and/or IRS government entities either via phone or in person.
• Consistently communicate with clients via email/phone/video call/mail regarding case updates and expectations.
• Respond in a timely manner to client inquiries and requests.
• Prioritize and manage caseload and assignments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrolled Agent, active status.
• Minimum of one year’s experience negotiating tax resolutions with the state and/or IRS.
• A positive attitude and customer service mindset with a strong work ethic.
• Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with great follow up.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the skill to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Ability to accomplish/complete a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small.
• Capacity to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Capability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with a lot of client interaction
• Receives enjoyment from problem solving and working through issues with clients and team members.
• Adaptable and a team player when priorities shift, or unexpected challenges arise.
• Access to the following equipment to perform the required work duties.
• A computer, laptop, monitor, tablet and/or smart phone.
• Internet - a minimum of 50 Mbps internet service with a recommended speed 100 Mbps for optimal performance.
• Satisfactory background and reference checks.
