Job summary

Garelick Farms, a part of Dairy Farmers of America, has an opening for a Case Dock Laborer on the 11:00 pm–7:30 am shift. You will support production by moving trailers, stocking cases, and maintaining a clean, safe dock area to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Warehouse/production/general work experience preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean all equipment in the assigned area.
• Slide case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate.
• Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent delays.
• Confirm area is full of cases at shift end to help next shift.
• Prioritize which truck to empty based on input from supervisors.
• Scan area and reduce trip hazards.
• Spot broken or unusable cases and remove them.
• Handle returned and inventory products as instructed.
• Unload and wash trailers while keeping dock doors closed when not in use.
• Document all required information clearly and accurately.
• Adhere to SOPs and company GMP and safety rules.

From 11:00 pm to 7:30 am;Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with Wednesday and Saturday off

Rate $20.75/hr. + $1.50/hr. Shift Dif. (2nd and 3rd Shift)

Sign on Bonus of $1,500 for External Candidates

GENERAL PURPOSE

Ensure empty cases are available to production departments to meet production schedules and provide assistance to shipping by moving trailers as requested and according to established Company policies and procedures.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and clean all equipment in assigned area.
• Slide case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate.
• Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays.
• Confirm empty case area is full of cases at end of shift to help next shift with production run.
• Correctly prioritize which truck to empty first based on input from supervisors, yard drivers, or others.
• Continuously scan the area and straighten up to reduce trip and slip hazards.
• Spot broken or otherwise unusable cases and remove them to the designated area.
• Handle returned and truck inventory product as instructed.
• Ensure trailers are unloaded and washed in a timely and efficient manner while keeping dock doors closed at all times when not in use.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
• Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment.
