Job summary

DFA is seeking a Warehouse/General Labor Associate in New York to maintain and clean equipment, move empty cases, and support production schedules. You will manage paperwork per SOPs, help keep docks organized, and ensure GMP and safety standards are followed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and some warehouse or production experience, with basic math and strong English communication skills. This is an on-site role requiring teamwork and safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
  • Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and clean all equipment in the assigned area.
  • Slide case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate.
  • Ensure conveyors are filled with empty cases to prevent delays.
  • Complete paperwork clearly and accurately per SOPs.
  • Follow GMP and safety regulations at all times.
  • Identify and report damaged or unusable cases.

Job description

General Purpose

Ensure empty cases are available to production departments to meet production schedules and provide assistance to shipping by moving trailers as requested and according to established Company policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and clean all equipment in assigned area
  • Slide case stacks from truck using milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate
  • Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays
  • Confirm empty case area is full of cases at end of shift to help next shift with production run
  • Correctly prioritize which truck to empty first based on input from supervisors, yard drivers, or others
  • Continuously scan the area and straighten up to reduce trip and slip hazards
  • Spot broken or otherwise unusable cases and remove them to the designated area
  • Handle returned and truck inventory product as instructed
  • Ensure trailers are unloaded and washed in a timely and efficient manner while keeping dock doors closed at all times when not in use
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred
