Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a detail-oriented inventory coordinator for Surgical Services. You will oversee acquisition, storage, and rotation of surgical supplies, while keeping precise tissue tracking and coordinating with OR staff on supply levels and back orders.

Requires a high school diploma; surgical technologist training is recommended. On-call availability within 30 minutes of the hospital is required, with full-time daytime shifts and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical technologist program recommended or related medical terminology training.
• Able to communicate effectively with OR staff and surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Oversees acquisition and maintenance of simulation equipment, tech, and facilities.
• Communicates location and supply level suggestions to Case Cart Manager or Supervisor.
• Rotates expiring supplies and implants to reduce waste.
• Keeps tissue tracking in Track Core system for bone/tissue products.
• Performs year-end inventory counts for Surgical Department supplies.
• Ensures frozen implants are handled per IFU for patient safety.
• Supports OR service lines with clinical product knowledge and options.
• Advises on back orders to OR staff and surgeons; handles FedEx deliveries.
• Assists with receiving/restocking supplies and proper storage.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Scans and fills inventory for all Surgical Services locations.
• Manages inventory control and restocking across Surgical Services.

Job Description:

• Oversees the acquisition and maintenance of simulation equipment, technology, and facilities.

• Communicates location and supply level suggestions, changes, and problems to Case Cart Manager or Supervisor regularly.

• Participates in the reduction of expiring supplies and implants through proper rotation.

• Maintains tissue tracking of bone and tissue products in the Track Core system.

• Conducts year-end inventory counts for all Surgical Department supply locations.

• Ensures frozen implants are handled according to IFU recommendations for patient safety.

• Supports specialty-specific service lines by knowing clinical products and providing sub options to OR staff and Surgeons.

• Communicates back orders with OR staff and Surgeons and handles all FedEx deliveries and transfers.

• Assists with receiving and restocking incoming supplies and ensures items are stored in the proper unit of issue in assigned locations for all areas under the Surgical Services umbrella.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Scans and fills inventory for all Surgical Services Department locations.

• Manages inventory control and restocking for all Surgical Services Department locations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good oral communication and interpersonal skills. [Required]

• Medical Terminology [Preferred]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

• graduate or equivalent

• Surgical Tech graduate recommended

• Graduate of recognized Surgical Technologist Program, or other training which provides education in medical terminology, supply nomenclature, and usage, and inventory management recommended.

Work Experience:

• Experience sufficient to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities of the position and provide demonstrated in the following areas. [Preferred]
