Base pay range

$52,000.00/yr - $56,000.00/yr

Bowman and Brooke LLP, a national defense law firm defending product liability, consumer warranty and other complex litigation cases, is seeking a Case Assistant to join our team of legal professionals in our Torrance, CA location (conveniently located one block off the 405 and 110 freeway).

Are you ready to begin your career in the legal profession? Are you looking for an entry-level position to gain the experience you've been craving? If you are, you’ll receive the training and experience needed to support paralegals and attorneys in fast-paced, high exposure litigation. This position is the perfect stepping-stone to becoming a case-handling paralegal.

Job Responsibilities

  • Request documentation from auto dealerships relative to case evaluations.
  • Assist in document productions.
  • Create and update case information in OneNote.
  • Enter billable time in iTimekeep on a daily basis.
  • Assist with trial preparation; regularly preparing 10+ trials per month.
  • Perform other duties, special projects and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

Top candidates will possess excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail. In addition, we are looking for the following qualities:

Skills And Computer Knowledge

  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Experience with OneNote is a plus
  • Well-developed customer service skills (internal and external)
  • Solid grammar and punctuation skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability and affinity for adapting with various personalities and work styles
  • Ability to lift 30-40 lbs. (files and boxes)

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
  • Experience in a professional office setting required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Professional working environment with casual attire
  • State-of-the-art technology
  • 40-hour work week with core office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Flexibility with work from home and in-office days, after initial training phase
  • Ability to work overtime, if needed, to meet business and client needs

Compensation for this position is between $52,000 to $56,000.
