Job summary

Southwest Key Programs is seeking a Case Aide to support Case Managers in supervising youth and handling data entry across program databases. The role may involve facilitating workshops and coordinating activities, with some evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma with some college, or a year of youth-serving experience, and a valid driver’s license. Training and background checks are required for this position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with some college hours or at least one year of experience working with at-risk youth.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, or related field or with at least one year of experience working with youth preferred.
• Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Cleared criminal background check from the appropriate entity.

Responsibilities

• Support Case Manager in delivering skills-building programming, homework, tutoring, and recreational activities for youth.
• Always provide direct supervision for youth.
• Promote positive interactions among youth participants.
• Enter data promptly in Southwest Key Programs’ and funding source databases.
• Develop and maintain helping relationships with youth to encourage accountability.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Notify Case Worker in case of crisis or incidents.
• Participate in daily program activities including group counseling and transportation if necessary.
• Review case files to understand youth history.
• Maintain all required trainings and certifications.

Overview

The Case Aide supports the Case Manager in youth supervision and data entry into Southwest Key Programs and funding source databases. The role may include facilitating workshops or groups as needed. A flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Essential Functions

• Support Case Manager in the delivery and coordination of skills-building programming, homework and tutorial assistance, and recreational activities for youth.
• Always provide direct supervision for youth.
• Promote and encourage positive interaction among youth participants.
• Enter data promptly in Southwest Key Programs’ and funding source’s databases.
• Develop and maintain helping relationships with youth to encourage individual accountability.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Notify Case Worker or designee immediately in the event of a youth crisis, suspected illegal activity, or any other youth or program incident.
• Participate in youths daily program activities including group counseling, recreation, and assist with transportation if necessary.
• Review case files to become familiar with youth history.
• Maintain all required trainings and certifications.

Other Functions

• Provide youth advocacy in the areas of health, education, vocation, legal and family work.
• Provide crisis intervention and administer first aid when necessary.
• Ability to manage problematic behaviors and set limits.
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Provide youth transportation to and from program, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, or related field or with at least one year of experience working with youth preferred.
• Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Cleared criminal background check from the appropriate entity.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to obtain First Aid Certification (CPR).
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle.
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to perform physical holds if required.
• Daily use of various office equipment.
• Bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 15 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.

Work Environment

This is a program which requires daily contact at various client locations. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. This position may require extended periods of time in an automobile and exposure to prevalent weather conditions.
