We are seeking a Case Aide (Social Service Assistant) to join our Corvallis Child Welfare Team and be part of a community focused on positive change in the lives of children and families.

Summary of Duties

As part of the Child Welfare Program, you will:

  • Assist Caseworkers in achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Complete paperwork, referrals, transport children, and handle administrative tasks.
  • Work with families and children by contacting, transporting, and visiting homes to ensure safety.
  • Engage with diverse cases and interact with many people.
  • Join a team committed to antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Testify in court regarding visitation observations.
  • Arrange family visits and facilitate communication between parents and resource parents.
  • Supervise visitations post-placement.
  • Provide emotional support to children experiencing trauma.
  • Share information about available resources and services.
Minimum Qualifications
  • One year of experience assisting professionals in social programs such as family services, children services, etc., OR
  • Current certification in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Addiction Counseling, or Juvenile Corrections, OR
  • 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours in relevant fields, OR
  • An associate degree in a non-social work field plus six months of related experience.
Essential Attributes

Candidates should:

  • Assist with administrative duties like case notes and information gathering.
  • Contact relatives for absent parent searches, visitation, or safety assessments.
  • Attend Court hearings related to CPS.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children during visits and transport.
