Job description

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engages in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and, insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.

Job Summary

The Technical Studies Adjunct Instructor is a part-time position responsible for engaging students with classroom and lab instruction using the NCCER curriculum. The lab activities must meet curriculum requirements and prepare students for careers in the HVAC field. This position requires in-person work at an off-campus site in Altavista, VA, with ongoing communication with students.

  • Utilize classroom technology such as Canvas, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the University professionally
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, embodying LU’s Christian mission
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervising lab assistants, where applicable.

Qualifications and Credentials
Education and Experience

Minimum of four years of field experience with a journeyman's HVAC license, including residential and commercial work. Industry-recognized licenses or certifications are required. A college degree is preferred.
