The Cartoon Network Hotel is an attraction in Lancaster, PA (beside Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park). We are seeking Entertainment Crew team members who will support our goal of making guest’s toon-tastic vacation filled with the best memories through top notch customer service and entertainment experiences.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Roles & Responsibilities
- Costume Character:
- These roles require cardio endurance, physical story-telling abilities, and strong performance energy.
- Be prepared and in costume on time for all scheduled character meet & greets.
- Maintain the illusion of being the character you are representing through physical movement and interactions with guests.
- Follow all protocols of the Cartoon Network character training.
- Execute performances as scripted by Cartoon Network.
- Communicate any safety concerns related to the costume and/or the environment you are performing, in a timely manner so they may be addressed before becoming problematic.
- Be respectful of the costume – return to storage properly, maintain appearance, spot clean as needed in accordance with training. Report costume maintenance needs in a timely manner.
- Be responsible for personal hygiene and under layers to maintain a shared costume.
- Entertainment Crew (out of costume)
- Proactive engagement with guests to encourage participation in planned event and activities.
- Facilitate a variety of activities for diverse age groups, including but not limited to: hands on make & take STEAM activities to dance parties, trivia nights and movie screenings.
- Ability to adapt an activity for all abilities levels
- Project a consistently positive and friendly
- Lead predesigned activities for guests.
- Proactively assist in the upkeep and maintenance of a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Proactive engagement with guests to encourage participation in planned events and/or activities on-site.
- Maintain and keep organization of stock for activity materials. Timely communicate when supplies run low before running out.
- Prepare designated location for STEAM activities for groups and hotel guests.
- Understand, convey and comply with safety rules and regulations related to equipment, art supplies and chemicals.
- Act as handler for costume character appearance.
- Maintain the safety and appearance of arcade and craft area: i.e. ongoing sweeping of debris, collecting lost and found items, disposing of trash left behind by guests and wiping down of machines.
- Monitor yard games, splash pad, and pool areas during events.
- Update seasonal décor in the activity/arcade area and lobby.
- Enforce property policies and procedures.
- Project a consistently positive and friendly attitude for our guests.
- Must be at least 16 years of to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws
- Must be able to obtain a Performing Work Permit.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must successfully participate in audition for costumed characters.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift.
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
- Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals.
- Willingness to comply with all CN grooming guidelines and employment standards.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat and cold temperatures (both in and out of costume).
- Ability to wear a mascot style costume with limited visibility.
- Willingness to learn signs to communicate exclusively non-verbally while in costume with Handler.
- Provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays).
- Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations.
- Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines.
- Must have availability to be scheduled as needed: mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Height and weight requirements are in place for proper costume fitting.
- Must meet the height and weight requirements for proper pre-existing costume fitting.
- These roles require athletic and cardio endurance, physical story-telling abilities, and strong performance energy.
- Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws
- Successful completion of Cartoon Network character training program.
Education: Any level
Languages: Fluent English
Skills:
- Must successfully participate in audition for costumed characters.
- Customer service –strong hospitality skills including, direction interaction with guests, anticipating and responding professionally to guest questions and concerns, and completing and communicating guest requests in a timely manner. Comfortable in a high-pressure customer-oriented environment.
- Communication – Very good verbal, written, and listening skills required for both ongoing communication internally, with guests and in leading activities.
- Teamwork – Ability to build positive work relationships that are necessary to meet business objectives.
- Problem Solving – quickly identify when an issue arises and find an appropriate solution.
- Self-directed attention to detail and desire to raise quality.
Experience: Some level of customer service experience is helpful, but not required.
Theater for Young Audience and/ or physical theater performance experience helpful, but not required.
Previous experience in youth-centric programs and/or businesses helpful, but not required.
