Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a mechanically skilled packaging operator to load, catch, and pack cartons on the folder gluer line, ensuring quality standards and ISO documentation are followed daily. You will set up packing stations, inspect cartons for defects, pull samples, and maintain a clean, safe work area while meeting production targets and safety rules.

Experience with reading job tickets, recording measurements, and adhering to quality checks is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must pass basic reading test.
• Must pass color vision test and color hue test.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Loads and feeds cartons into the feed station.
• Packs cartons into boxes according to packing instructions.
• Inspects carton quality for offset, color, glue, skewing and overall appearance.
• Pulls random carton samples and records job ticket information.
• Clears machine area, disposes of scrap and maintains a clean workspace daily.
• Completes ISO forms and quality checks for each job.
• Follows all safety rules and may work overtime during busy periods.
