Job summary

Goebel Fixture Company, based in Boone, IA, seeks a Cart Shop Technician to inspect and repair industrial trucks, warehouse equipment, batteries, chargers, and related gear at our distribution center. You will diagnose problems, maintain safety standards, and document repairs in a busy warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include performing regular inspections, using basic hand tools, coordinating with the Cart Shop team, and keeping the work area clean and safe.

Description

JOB FUNCTION:

As a Cart Shop Technician, you will inspect and repair industrial trucks, warehouse equipment, batteries, chargers, ice cream bunkers, hand pallet jacks, and walk-behind floor scrubbers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose and repair industrial truck problems


• Ensure safety compliance


• Keep accurate records for equipment repairs


• Perform weekly/monthly inspections


• Communicate effectively with the Cart Shop team


• Must provide basic hand tools


• Keep work area clear of debris, spills, or unsanitary conditions to promote a safe environment


• Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic mechanical skills


• Basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge


• Ability to use tools safely and effectively


• High attention to detail


• Excellent problem solving and reporting skills


• Ability to prioritize


• Ability to work safely and effectively with little supervision


• Ability to operate industrial trucks


• Basic computer skills are required


• Basic math skills are required


• Ability to speak and read English


• Ability to understand and follow instructions - written and verbal


• High school diploma or G.E.D. required


• Must be at least 18 years old or older

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of Crown equipment


• 5 years of experience in a similar position

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• On your feet for 9 hours per day


• Must be able to bend, kneel, twist, reach, and pull frequently


• Must be able to lift items 50 lbs or more occasionally, 25 lbs or more frequently, and 25 lbs or less continuously

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Cart Shop temperature is from 65°F to 75°F


• Exposer to temperatures from -20°F to 85°F


• Moderate to high noise level


• Occasional slippery conditions


• Campus warehouses have a noisy and busy environment; employees must always remain alert

LOCATION:

• This position is based out of our Distribution Center Complex in Boone, IA.
