What you will do to contribute to the company's success
- Enhance network documentation and communication protocols to prevent errors leading to circuit outages and improve issue resolution.
- Implement proactive maintenance and advanced monitoring to detect and address potential issues early.
- Improve network stability by applying best practices and optimizing configurations.
- Mitigate external factors like fiber cuts and backbone issues by collaborating with engineering teams and customers.
- Assist in recovering credits from vendors for outages caused by them and challenge unjust credit requests.
- Host meetings with the NOC to discuss recurring outages and work towards resolving issues and improving network and SLA performance.
- Coordinate with engineering to establish new routes and augment the network, ensuring alignment with performance and reliability goals.
- Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of monthly SLA reports, and verify all SLA requirements are met and documented.
- Report on trouble ticket history and SLA noncompliance for customer scorecards and present findings in customer meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in carrier service assurance, network operations, or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of network technologies, protocols, and standards such as TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, SNMP.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting tools like ping, traceroute, Wireshark.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Availability to work on-call and respond to network emergencies.
- Certifications such as MEF, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS are preferred.
