Private Fleet Net Zero (PFNZ), a Silicon Valley start-up, is creating an AI-empowered marketplace platform to connect the 45% of trucks owned by private trucking fleets (e.g., Wal-Mart, Sherwin-Williams) that are mostly empty on backhaul trips, with over $50B of engaged USA truckload spend, while also aiming to decarbonize trucking. We seek a private fleet-experienced carrier sales manager/representative well-connected to North American private trucking fleets. This remote, demanding role involves:

Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and pursue new private trucking fleets to generate revenue for PFNZ
  2. Conduct platform demos for potential and existing private fleets
  3. Develop and maintain relationships to ensure fleet satisfaction and retention
  4. Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets
  5. Keep accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM (HubSpot)
  6. Collaborate with marketing to enhance sales materials
  7. Provide feedback on service enhancements to developers
  8. Attend industry events to network and promote PFNZ
  9. Contribute to company strategy and planning to maximize growth
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of success closing private fleets for third-party freight
  • Minimum 3 years in carrier sales for a brokerage
  • Proven sales achievement record
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical (Excel) and problem-solving skills; self-starter in remote work
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (preferably HubSpot)
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Plus: startup experience, SQL/VBA skills

The private fleet trucking capacity in the US is valued at ~$350 billion, with trucks being 45% of all road freight and often empty (~80% of the time). Private fleets also contribute significantly to pollution, with 57% of deadly particulates, per Forbes.

Our ideal candidate has recent, sophisticated freight broker experience in private fleet sales, a track record of exceeding goals, and a desire to lead and build our SaaS/Marketplace business. You will initially close fleets directly and grow the team as PFNZ expands, focusing on improving industry productivity and efficiency. You will be our first carrier sales team member.
