Great Lakes Transport Solutions Carrier Relationship Manager- Uncapped bonus! 4x10 Schedule with weekends

Great Lakes Transport is looking for motivated, self-starters who are eager to learn, earn, and advance in an ever-growing industry. As a Weekend Carrier Relationship Manager/Track and Trace Specialist, you are on the logistics/carrier network side of the brokerage. You will be tasked with building and growing carrier relationships to provide cost-effective logistics solutions for GLT’s customers. You will develop and deploy strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Location: Remote or Amherst, NY · Full time

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build a strong network of reliable carriers, through strong communication tactics and follow up
  • Negotiate freight rates and commitments with carriers, including prospecting and cold calling
  • Actively prospect and recruit new Carriers
  • Match quality Carriers to Customers’ available freight at competitive pricing using internal and external market data
  • Communicate all information (delays, re-routes, additional charges) between the Carrier and Account Manager
  • Use technology to operationalize and manage incoming freight and carriers
  • Maintain strong internal relationships across our Account Manager, Sales and Administration team
  • Act as carrier escalation point to assist with the resolution of any open issues
  • Provide dedicated weekend coverage for our operations team; supporting the carrier and track and trace teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in customer service, sales, or operations role
  • Logistics experience is a plus
  • Attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve
  • Solid organization and time-management skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prospect, sell and close new opportunities by demonstrating services and value to potential Carriers
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office Products with the ability to learn logistics software quickly
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, in written and verbal communications

Education:

$36,000-45,000 base + uncapped monthly bonus. Shift differential for weekend coverage.

Hours of Operation

Great Lakes Transport's standard business hours are 8 am - 5 pm EST, Monday through Friday. This shift will work Th-Sunday or Fri-Mon 8am-6pm or 7am-5pm. 4 10-hour shifts
