Job summary

North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Carpenter to perform carpentry work on renovations, repairs, and construction across campus facilities. You will read blueprints, install doors and millwork, and help shape spaces to support learning and community.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; experience with interior renovations and space reconfiguration is preferred. Candidate will work Monday–Friday, with a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or demonstrated competency in carpentry.
• Experience with renovations and interior building trades.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work on renovations, repairs, and new construction, including drywall, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and related components.
• Install and repair doors, windows, trim, millwork, hardware, partitions, and other building features.
• Modify spaces by removing or constructing walls and installing partitions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure correct project execution.
• Use hand tools, power tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Identify issues and propose practical solutions to support project objectives.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors and trades to complete work on time and within scope.
• Maintain compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and material specs.
• Apply carpentry knowledge to support facilities maintenance and teamwork.
• Safely access elevated areas; may encounter insects or animals.
