Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. seeks Carpenters for marine projects in Hopewell, VA and Baltimore, MD. Travel is required and candidates must be willing to work 12-hour shifts with extended schedules.

Typical duties include constructing forms, setting up scaffolding, reading blueprints, and performing formwork in heavy civil marine environments. Experience with formwork and carpentry training preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in formwork preferred.
• Carpenter Training Program or equivalent experience for Carpenter Helpers.

Responsibilities

• Select specified type of lumber or other materials.
• Prepare layout.
• Measure boards, timbers, or plywood, and marks cutting lines on materials.
• Shape materials to prescribed measurements.
• Nail cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete-supporting forms.
• Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts, for use in building concrete piers, footing, and walls.
• Assemble cut and shaped materials and fasten them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Set expansion dams.
• Assemble or run overhang modules or stick built overhangs.
• Climb wingwalls, retaining walls.
• Assemble wood deck forms.
• Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
• Assist in pouring of concrete.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.

We are seeking Carpenters (Marine projects) in Hopewell, VA and Baltimore, MD. Must be willing to travel and work 12-hour shifts with an extended work schedule.

SUMMARY:

Construct, erect, and repair structures for heavy civil marine projects. Form work experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Education and/or Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Able to work while tied off to fall protection
• Able to work or walk on uneven ground
• Able to walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Skilled in use of necessary hand and power tools
• Able to work with level
• Read and understand blueprints, sketches, or bridge plans for information pertaining to type of material required
• Read tape measure
• Lift/move up to 100 pounds

Expected base pay range for this positions is: $28.00/hr - $35.00/hr

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Kokosing at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
