Position: Facility Maintenance Technician – Bldg Trades - Journey

Sign-on Bonus: A sign-on bonus of $4,081 is available for the successful applicant, paid in 2 installments within 12 months of hire: $2,040.50 within 30 days of hire date and $2,040.50 after 12 months.

This recruitment is for two (2) Facility Maintenance Technician – Bldg Trades - Journey positions (00061907, 00032605). By applying, you will be considered for both positions.

Responsibilities:

1. Makes roofing and carpentry repairs and installations, and performs preventive maintenance on all campus buildings.
2. Repairs/replaces historical building components with original matching materials.
3. Water tests, replaces, and repairs roof drains, internal downspout pipes, overflow pipe systems, storm water drains, and water collection systems.
4. Removes and replaces insulation, asbestos, glazing, and lead paint from pipes, windows, and other exterior building components.
5. Tests, inspects, and services fall protection cable/anchor systems, lightning rod and cable systems, mechanical roof, and smoke hatches.
6. Operates heavy machinery such as boom lifts, dump trucks, loaders, and forklifts.
