Job summary

WESTERN REFINERY SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Carpenter Laborer to support carpenters and field crews across all phases of construction. Core tasks include concrete forming, placing and finishing, framing and painting, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires basic construction knowledge, the ability to operate power tools, and a strong work ethic. You will contribute to building durable structures while upholding company standards and teamwork on busy job sites in Washington state.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of general construction or laborer experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Familiar with basic hand tools and power equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, 100 lbs with assistance.
• Willingness to perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Build, set, brace, align, and strip forms for footings, foundations, walls, slabs and stairs.
• Place rebar, embeds, anchor bolts, and blockouts per plans.
• Clean, oil, and stage forming materials for reuse.
• Layout, measure, cut and assemble wall, floor, and roof framing.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and masking.
• Apply primers, paints and protective coatings per specification.
• Safely operate circular, miter and table saws, drills, impact drivers, nail guns, grinders.
• Inspect, clean, stage and transport materials across the job site.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while supporting carpenters and other trades as assigned.
• Verify work for level, plumb, square and accurate dimensions.

Core work includes concrete forming, placing and finishing, structural framing and painting. The role requires general construction knowledge, safe use of power tools, saws, and careful attention to detail so all works meets quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Safely operate circular, miter and table saws, drills, impact drivers, nail guns, grinders, vibrators, and power trowels.
• Inspect, clean, stage and transport materials across the job site.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while supporting carpenters and other trades as assigned.
• Verify work for level, plumb, square and accurate dimensions, correcting defects promptly.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• 1+ years of general construction, laborer, or hands-on trade experience preferred (willing to train candidates with strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power equipment (saws, drills, impact drivers and nail guns).
• Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and job-site safety compliance.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate tools, handle building materials, and perform precision assembly tasks.
• Ability to consistently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs independently, and up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Comfort with continues physical labor including bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing ladders/scaffolding and standing for extended periods (8+hours per day).
