Job summary

The Haskell Company in Ridgeland, MS, is seeking an experienced carpenter to construct, erect, install, and repair wood structures in accordance with local codes. You will read construction documents, supervise helpers, and ensure safety throughout all phases of the project.

Responsibilities include erecting scaffolding, building forms, framing floors/walls/roofs, and installing anchors and embeds. A high school diploma and 5 years of carpentry experience are required.

Scope of Position

In this role, you will construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using the carpenter's hand tools and power tools while conforming to local building codes. You will read and interpret construction documents to find information related to the project. Other duties may include installing concrete reinforcement, connection embeds, use of multiple form systems, trim work, door, and hardware installation.

Education/Experience

Environmental Factors And/or Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
