Job summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter II who will be responsible for constructing and repairing wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles. This role requires accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards on various job sites.

You will study blueprints, measure materials, set up formwork, assist with elevations, and perform rough carpentry, drywall, and cabinetry tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of three years carpentry experience.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Set up trailers and study blueprints to determine material requirements and dimensions.
• Construct decks, stairs, roofs, and temporary structures; install shelves and site setup.
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms; assist with grades and elevations.
• Unload and stockpile materials; perform rough carpentry, drywall, cabinetry, and related tasks.

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter II that will be responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up trailers
• Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
• Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, setup tool trailers/conex’s, silt fences/straw bales, and setup site per erosion control plan
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms
• Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations
• Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry)
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of three (3) years carpentry experience
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred
• Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
