Job summary

Colonial Group seeks an experienced carpenter to construct, erect, and repair wooden structures in Jacksonville, FL. You will read blueprints or sketches, follow local building codes, and operate hand and power tools to cut, nail, shim and finish woodwork.

This on-site role emphasizes safety, task planning to meet project milestones, and physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds (80 pounds on occasion). A high school diploma or GED and two years of carpentry experience are required, along with

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with two years of carpentry experience.
Ability to read blueprints or sketches.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Constructs, erects, and repairs wooden structures; reads blueprints or sketches or from verbal instructions.
Understands local building codes to ensure compliance with structural and safety requirements.
Operates hand tools and power tools to saw to size, nail, shim, fit and finish wooden construction.
Keeps work area neat and orderly; ensures that premises are cleaned and debris is disposed at end of shift.
Plans and paces own work to meet daily, weekly, project, or team production goals.
Observes safety procedures and attends safety meetings; may suggest safety improvements.
Other duties may be assigned.
