Job summary

Austin Industrial in Houston, TX is seeking a Carpenter to join our staff. The role requires 3–5 years of journeyman level experience, with the ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment to support concrete and structural work.

We are a 100% employee‑owned ESOP company offering strong benefits and stability, serving major industrial clients across oil, gas, chemical, and manufacturing sectors. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with overtime as needed.

• Erect concrete forms, scaffolding and ramps; place and finish concrete.
• Maintain a safe, clean job site and comply with safety rules.
• Operate power tools and heavy equipment as needed.
• Replace doors, walls and build stairs; perform general cleanup.

Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Carpenter to join our staff located at Houston, TX. They must be able to execute profitable production activities, as assigned by Manager, that support the goals of the company.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Erect and destruct concrete forms, scaffolding and ramps above ground level.
• Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.
• Construct forms or chutes for pouring concrete.
• Verify trueness of structure, set grade, check for plumb, etc.
• Mix, transfer and extend materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• Fabricate and install concrete reinforcing bars.
• Place and finish concrete.
• Maintain clean job site, Pick up tools/equipment, secure job site each day-eliminate potential hazards.
• Be able to operator a forklift
• Be able to move or rearranging furniture.
• Do general clean up.
• Be able to paint.
• Prepare water and deliver to crafts or units.
• Replace doors walls and build stairs as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid TWIC Card & TWIC Pin #
• Meet physical demands as listed above
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
• Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
