Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Carpenter to join the Operations team on our project in Bristow, VA. This is a full-time position with a focus on building and maintaining safe work environments while supporting field supervision.

Candidates should have at least five years of construction experience, be able to read basic drawings, and hold OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training. The role requires physical endurance and willingness to work overtime or on weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
• Ability to read basic drawings.
• Safety training such as OSHA 10 and fall protection.
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs and stand/walk long periods.
• Must be agile/mobile and able to climb ladders/scaffolds.

Responsibilities

• Constructing and maintaining safety handrails and hole protection, steps and gang ladders, temporary weather enclosures and protection.
• Also does sawing, stripping, nailing, measuring, drilling, and other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Experience working with concrete is a plus.

About the Role

We are looking for a Carpenter to join our Operations team on our project in Bristow, VA. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Constructing and maintaining safety handrails and hole protection, steps and gang ladders, temporary weather enclosures and protection.
• Also does sawing, stripping, nailing, measuring, drilling, and other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Experience working with Concrete is a HUGE plus.

Qualifications

Required:

• Possess 5 years of construction experience.
• Must be able to read basic drawings.
• Have training on construction safety protocols (i.e. OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform (boom and scissor).
• This position will provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues.
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs., 75% of the time.

Preferred:

• Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
• Must be able to work outside.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
