Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western currently seeks a Carpenter for the Chandler Water Systems Project in Chandler, AZ. The Carpenter will construct, erect, install wooden structures using hand and power tools for heavy civil projects.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, installing wood components, and complying with safety policies. Candidates should have 3-5 years of verifiable carpentry experience and be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years verifiable carpenter experience preferred
• Ability to climb and balance on scaffold/ladder
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drainage structures, walls, and additional structures
• May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
• Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood making machinery
