Job Responsibilities:
- Organize and complete carpentry-related tasks at construction projects.
- Complete rough carpentry work, site logistical work, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, construction waste areas, and jobsite cleanup.
- Shape or cut materials to specified measurements.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders, as needed.
- Install structures and fixtures including but not limited to windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware.
- Review jobsite needs with superintendents and foremen, and coordinate construction.
- Estimate, inventory, monitor, and request time, staff, materials, and equipment needed to complete work.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactor, and construction hoist.
- Assist with the overall site safety and quality programs as required, including participation in Pre-Task Plans, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Inspect all tools and power tools before use to ensure safety and proper functioning.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees.
- Travel and work night and weekend shifts as needed.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Display teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least three (3) years of carpentry experience.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Basic knowledge of construction surveying.
- Ability to interpret project drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in carpentry.
- Understanding of foundations and framing of structures.
- Basic arithmetic and geometry skills applicable to carpentry.
- Knowledge of machinery and tools, including maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work independently and accommodate night and weekend work.
- Ability to understand safety instructions and signage.
- Clear communication skills, especially in emergencies.
