• Assist with drywall hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, finishing.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized job site and follow safety policies.

The company operates in three distinct areas of construction: petroleum contracting and service, general contracting, and electrical. In each area, R.W. Mercer provides a turn-key approach that includes planning, design, construction, and installation as well as service, monitoring, and maintenance.

A Carpenter at R.W. Mercer is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled carpentry tasks within our general contracting division. As our team continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter with a preferred minimum of five years of industry experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in wood and metal framing, composite siding installation, drywall hanging and finishing, and finish carpentry, while consistently delivering high-quality craftsmanship and contributing to the successful completion of construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installation of wooden and metal structures: framing, rafters, joists, and stud work
• Installation of composite siding and exterior cladding materials in accordance with specifications and project requirements
• Assist with daily drywall installations: hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site through daily cleanup, debris removal, material handling, tool maintenance, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support project completion and company operations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

• Verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with customers and team members
• Strong organizational skills
• Work well under pressure and meet constant deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
