Job summary

Ace Handyman Services is actively hiring a versatile handyman to service homes and businesses around Metro-Detroit. You will handle plumbing, electrical, drywall, and other trades with a focus on quality and efficiency, communicating clearly with homeowners and team members.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8am–5pm) with no weekend work, a competitive wage, bonuses, and allowances for vehicle and tools.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and drywall.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly.
• Excellent communication with customers and team.
• Presentable appearance and organized tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform handyman tasks across multiple trades.
• Inspect properties and identify repair needs.
• Communicate estimates and timelines to customers.
• Maintain tools and keep work areas tidy.

A good overall knowledge of all trades:

• Plumbing
• Electrical
• Drywall

Proper Equipment:

Not necessarily having every tool, but knowing what tools are needed for certain tasks.

Troubleshooting Skills:

Must be a quick thinker and have the ability to be able to examine a problem situation and come up with a resolution in a prompt and professional manner.

Excellent Communication Skills:

Must be able to communicate with Management, Office Personnel, Fellow Employees, Homeowners, Suppliers, Property Managers and Commercial Customers.

Presentable:

• Clean-Cut appearance
• Decent looking vehicle
• Organized tools

Other:

Looks around the property and communicates to the customer, things you could repair or things that our company can handle.

Takes time to earn the customer’s confidence and then inquires about additional work that could be performed.

Sometimes taking the time to fix something small, then points out to the customer to help them understand that we are capable of doing more.
