An established industry player is seeking a skilled construction professional to join their dynamic team in Cedar Rapids. This role involves ensuring the proper implementation of work plans, examining blueprints, and leading a team in various construction tasks. EY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
A. Ensure proper IWP is in place and understood by their crew.
B. Examine blueprints to determine dimensions of the structure.
C. Lay out floor plans and cabinetry using tape, framing square, and calipers.
D. Select materials and structural units, such as lumber, prefabricated doors, cabinets of wood or plastic, paneling, and inspect them to ensure conformance with building codes and local ordinances.
E. Determine the sequence of activities involved in fabrication, assembly, and erection of structures.
F. Assign workers to tasks such as cutting materials to size, building concrete forms, erecting wooden frameworks, and laying flooring.
G. Inspect work performed by subcontractors, including ductwork, wiring, and pipe installations, to ensure compliance with specifications.
H. Install doors, build stairs, and lay hardwood floors.
I. Shoot grades and elevations.
J. Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect all pre-fabricated materials.
K. Concrete and rough carpentry tasks:
L. Finish carpentry, doors, and hardware:
M. Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance effectively.
N. Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
O. All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A. Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
B. Ability to visualize solid objects from drawings or diagrams.
C. Some ability to read plans.
D. Ability to operate equipment such as table saws, radial arm saws, belt and disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems.
