Job summary

Austin Industrial, Inc. in Houston seeks an experienced Carpenter/Fireproofing to install fireproofing systems, read blueprints, and support maintenance projects across our industrial sites.

The role requires NCCER Carpenter certification, TWIC card, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate a forklift; 4 years journeyman-level experience preferred.

Qualifications

Description

Austin Industrial, Inc. - We seek an experienced Carpenter/Fireproofing Must have Fireproofing experience and be able to run JLG based in Pasadena, Texas.
This position requires NCCER, a Driver's License, and a TWIC Card.
Maintenance position works 4 10-hour shifts plus occasional overtime - No per diem.

Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. Must know about structural design, the ability to read blueprints, and simple layouts. Must know construction trade, practices, procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Erect and destruct concrete forms, scaffolding and ramps above ground level.
• Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.
• Verify trueness of structure, set grade, check for plumb, etc.
• Mix, transfer and extend materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• Fabricate and install concrete reinforcing bars.
• Place and finish concrete.
• Maintain clean job site, pick up tools/equipment, secure job site each day-eliminate potential hazards.
• Be able to operator a forklift
• Be able to move or rearranging furniture.
• Be able to paint.
• Prepare water and deliver to crafts or units.
• Replace doors, walls, and build stairs as needed
• Installing structural protection to the frame of a building, such as dry cladding, mineral sprays, or intumescent.
• Constructing fire-resistant walls and ceiling linings.
• Installing thermal and acoustic insulation, fire seals, cavity barriers, and fire-resistant ducting.
• Ensuring the correct application and installation of fireproofing systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must have Fireproofing experience and be able to run JLG
