Job Description

Metropolitan Water District (MWD) is recruiting for an Operation & Maintenance Tech II (Carpenter) at their Lake Mathews Facility located at 18250 La Sierra Ave., Riverside, CA 92503. The ideal candidate will have experience in concrete, forming, rebar placement, and finish concrete.

Work Schedule

4/10 (Monday-Thursday), with every Friday off.

Pay

Prevailing Wage Position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and develop carpentry skills in building, repairing, and renovating structures and parts, including rough, finished, and bench carpentry.
• Perform concrete work such as mixing, demolition, saw cutting, core drilling, and finishing.
• Build and maintain structures using wood, composites, and other materials.
• Support water and power reliability by maintaining and improving facilities within treatment plants, conveyance systems, and other structures.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Theories, practices, tools, and materials of carpentry and masonry.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety practices, and regulations.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Valid Driver’s License, Forklift and Man Lift Certifications.
• Non-Cal PERS membership.
