Eventscape Job Opportunity: Carpenter (Custom Millwork Fabricator)

Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Carpenter (Custom Millwork Fabricator) to join our woodshop. The ideal candidate will be an elite craftsperson and natural leader, with experience in all aspects of architectural millwork fabrication and familiarity with various materials.

About the Role
  • Manufacture and assemble high-quality custom architectural elements and structures
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications
  • Determine tolerances and test project elements
  • Operate woodworking machinery, finishing equipment, power tools, and hand tools
  • Work with different materials, including solid surfaces, epoxy, metals, melamine, solid wood, and wood products
  • Perform precise measurements and ensure accurate installation of hardware and other elements
  • Perform wood finishing, sanding, staining, and applying finishes
  • Monitor quality across the team to ensure high standards
  • Plan and execute fabrication strategies; oversee and manage junior fabricators and assistants
  • Manage schedules to meet deadlines and provide regular project updates to management
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and requirements for upcoming projects
  • Adhere to safe work practices and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area and facilitate equipment repairs and maintenance
About You
  • Training from a relevant program such as woodworking, millwork, carpentry, or cabinetmaking, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience as a lead-hand or senior fabricator
  • Passion for challenging fabrication and tight tolerances
  • Self-motivated and schedule-conscious
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety principles and practices
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently when needed
  • In-depth understanding of fabrication processes and materials such as wood, solid surfaces, fabric, acrylic, glass, and leather
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
