Job summary

EGC Construction, an operating unit of Messer Construction Co., is seeking a Carpenter to join the team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices as well as an understanding of procedures, tools, and safety requirements for commercial building.

EGC emphasizes safety, quality and customer satisfaction, and operates as part of the Messer family of companies. Team members may be asked to perform other duties within qualification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• OSHA 10 Certified preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in construction.
• Candidates must have transportation.
• Willing to travel.
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install doors and hardware.
• Install windows.
• Layout for stairs and rafters.
• Read blueprints and perform layout.
• Form and place concrete footings, piers, walls and columns.
• Pump, place and finish concrete.
• Place concrete slabs on grade and elevated decks.
• Crane signals and rigging.
• Communicate effectively verbal and written instructions.
• Organize, sequence and complete tasks on schedule.
• Hang and finish drywall.

We offer general,commercialand industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipefittersand structural steel detailers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures and safety requirements associated with commercial building.

What You Will Do:

• Installation of doors; drill and set door hardware
• Installation of windows
• Layout for stairs and common rafters
• Read blueprints,utilizeappropriate mathskillsand perform layout
• Form and place concrete footings, piers,wallsand columns
• Pump, place and finish techniques
• Placement of concrete, slab on grade and elevated decks
• Crane signals and rigging
• Effectively communicate and understand both verbal and written instructions
• Ability to organize, sequence and perform assigned tasks within schedule
• Hanging and finishing drywall

What You Will Bring:
