Job description

Overview

Successful candidates will be part of a dive team utilizing both scuba and surface supplied diving. Electric Boat Divers perform a wide range of activities related to underwater ships husbandry specific to the submarine industry under all weather conditions. The Diver will be responsible for tasks including construction, waterborne maintenance, and repair work throughout the shipyard. Divers use hydraulic, pneumatic, and hand-held tools. When not diving, divers perform maintenance of their equipment and carpentry work as needed. Travel to various sites may be required.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 2+ years of technical experience
• Minimum skill designation as tender/diver
• Surface supplied diving certificate from ADCI-accredited school or military equivalent
• Six-month probationary evaluation
• Ability to qualify and maintain radiation worker qualifications
• Obtain a secret clearance
• Availability to work all shifts
• Pass an initial medical examination by a qualified physician for commercial diver medical exams

Preferred:

• Current dive logbook
• Familiarity with carpentry tools
