Join Volunteers of America Delaware Valley as a Carpenter and put your craftsmanship to work improving and maintaining safe, quality housing and facilities for individuals and families in need. You’ll be part of a hands-on team responsible for a wide range of residential and commercial carpentry tasks that directly support our mission.

This is more than just construction work—it's building better communities from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform framing, drywall repair/installation, trim work, stair and railing construction
  • Install doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, and block walls
  • Lay out materials, read blueprints, and execute projects accurately
  • Lead in-house and external building projects as needed
  • Ensure safety and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and equipment
  • Collaborate with the construction team and follow all VOADV standards and safety guidelines

What You Need

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years as a Union Carpenter or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship
  • NJ State Journeyman’s license (or equivalent) preferred
  • Solid experience in commercial construction and maintenance
  • Strong blueprint reading and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and availability for on-call work (nights/weekends/holidays)
