Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach seeks a skilled Carpenter to perform maintenance and construction on City-owned facilities. Positions may be filled as Carpenter I, II, or III based on qualifications and experience, with duties spanning repairs, renovations, and installations.

Qualifications

• High school or GED with carpentry-related experience or training.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, renovations, and construction on City buildings.
• Repair furniture, doors, windows, roofing systems, locks and hardware.
• Read blueprints and prepare cost estimates for labor and materials.
• Coordinate with staff during events and maintain safe job sites.
