Job Title: Carpenter with Assistant Superintendent Aspirations
Job Description

The Assistant Foreman supports the waterproofing of exterior balconies on a multi-family construction project in Mission, KS. This role works closely with foremen, laborers, and craftsmen to ensure high-quality workmanship, safe operations, and efficient completion of tasks on a commercial new-build site.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the waterproofing of exterior balconies on a multi-family construction project, following established methods and quality standards.
  • Support foremen and other supervisors by carrying out assigned tasks efficiently and safely on a commercial new-build site.
  • Work alongside other laborers and craftsmen to complete concrete, carpentry, framing, and finishing activities as needed.
  • Use power tools and construction equipment safely and correctly under direction.
  • Assist with general site cleanup, including debris removal, material organization, and maintaining a safe and orderly work area.
  • Interpret and follow basic instructions from blueprints and supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with other foremen and laborers to ensure work progresses smoothly and according to schedule.
  • Take direction well from supervisors and adjust work methods based on feedback.
  • Contribute to concrete finishing, drywall, and other general construction tasks as required by the project.
  • Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new skills and techniques in construction and site coordination.
Essential Skills
  • Intermediate general labor skills in a construction setting.
  • Relevant construction experience, preferably on commercial new-build projects.
  • Experience in laborer or carpentry work.
  • Ability to assist with waterproofing tasks on exterior balconies.
  • Ability to work well with other foremen, laborers, and craftsmen as part of a team.
  • Capability to assist with site cleanup and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions reliably.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with concrete work and concrete finishing.
  • Exposure to carpentry, framing, and finish work.
  • Familiarity with welding and drywall tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Comfort using power tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience on commercial new-build construction projects.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.40 - $42.94/hr.
