Responsibilities

  • Assist carpentry work on buildings, rides, water parks, and facilities.
  • Work under a Senior Carpenter mentor for 6–12 months.
  • Perform wood and concrete repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Assist with plumbing and electrical tasks as needed.
  • Build concrete forms; move and install fencing/railings; replace decking; install doors/windows.
  • Inspect and repair wooden roller coaster track and substructures.
  • Document completed work in the CMMS.

Job description

Morey's Piers is seeking a highly motivatedCarpenter Assistant to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. Individuals will be responsible for assisting with carpentry work on buildings, rides, water parks, and facility grounds. This assistant position is open to entry level applicants while the full carpenter position will require at least several years of experience. We are seeking candidates who are dependable and eager to grow!

The Carpenter Assistant will be assigned to a Senior Carpenter mentor while training for 6-12 months. This individual will follow and assist the Senior Carpenter in their daily duties to understand the position's role. Carpenters are responsible for carpentry work on buildings, rides, water parks, and facility grounds. The Pier Carpenter's responsibilities include wood and concrete repairs, heavy equipment operations, routine preventative maintenance, and assisting with plumbing and electrical repairs as required. Other tasks may include building concrete forms, moving and assembling fencing and railings, replacing decking, stud walls, assisting with door and window installs, and repairing substructures as required. An additional responsibility is the daily inspection and repair of our wooden roller coaster track.

The successful candidate will be able to perform work according to procedures and document completion via a computerized maintenance management system.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a high school diploma.
  • Able to provide and maintain basic hand tools as well as have working knowledge of their proper use.
  • Able to read and understand tape measurements.
  • Able to pull, push, or lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to climb ladders, stairs, and catwalks up to 150 feet above ground.
  • Able to stand for 8+ hours per day.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, holidays, weekends, and over 40 hours per week, when needed.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions: winter, summer, rain, etc.
  • Able to wear the proper uniform and arrive on time as scheduled.

These are a full-time positions in Wildwood, NJ and offer a competitive hourly pay rate ($19-$24) & comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other perks.
