Intermountain Health in Murray, UT is seeking a Maintenance Worker I - General to perform routine maintenance tasks, assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment, and respond to emergency requests under supervision. This entry-level role provides hands-on learning in Facilities Management, with full-time hours (40/wk) and a competitive hourly wage.

Maintenance Worker I - General

Job Title: The Maintenance Worker I - General is an entry-level position in the Facilities Management department. The position focuses on general maintenance and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus.

Schedule: Full-time/benefits eligible Monday-Friday 7am-330pm (some overtime and weekends needed)

This will be an entry level carpenter role/apprentice type role learning under the lead carpenter.

Essential Functions

• Performs routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing damaged walls or floors.
• Assists with the installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests and provides immediate assistance to resolve the issue.
• Works under the direct supervision of a facilities management leader.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
• Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
• Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
