Job Description
Performs and monitors a wide variety of general building carpentry and repair related to mechanical systems and building structures.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out work assignments and assist other carpenters and helpers, supervising their work as required to ensure quality standards and safety.
- Use all standard carpenter, tile setter tools and equipment, including saws, grinders, levels, etc., to efficiently complete tasks.
- Read simple blueprints and lay out work using chalk lines or other methods for partitions, doors, windows, and cabinets.
- Install and repair door frames, doors, windows, and hardware as needed.
- Construct suspended acoustical and/or sheetrock ceilings.
- Construct wood and plastic-laminate faced furniture and countertops.
- Install and repair sheetrock and walls, including taping, spackling, and sanding in preparation for painting.
- Install floor and wall tiles, ceramic and vinyl cove base, and composition tile using adhesive or mud methods.
- Install and repair windows, sashes, glazing, lintels, and waterproofing.
- Perform miscellaneous jobs as required, including general clean-up and minor painting.
- Order materials as needed through the Lead Carpenter and perform related duties as required.

Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, able to stand and work for prolonged periods.
- Must have acceptable corrected visual acuity and be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of cabinet making or construction experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to interpret blueprints and renovation plans.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Proficient in using all standard power and hand tools, including carpentry and tile setting saws, grinders, levels, etc.
