Job summary

Hershey Entertainment and Resorts is seeking a full-time carpenter apprentice/journeyman to help maintain wooden coasters and support Hersheypark operations on site. The role emphasizes safety, timely completion of tasks, and ability to work with various park facilities.

Requirements include 18+ years old, a valid driver’s license, 3 years carpentry experience (trade school can substitute one year), and passing the post-offer physical and pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Three years of verifiable work experience in the Carpentry trade (completion of trade school can substitute one year).
• Pre-employment physical exam required; safety-sensitive role with drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of wooden coasters.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist as needed with Hersheypark, Hersheypark Arena, and Hersheypark Stadium operations.
• Complete work in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties (essential functions are marked with an asterisk)

• Perform daily inspections of wooden coasters

• Assist as needed or required with any aspect of Hersheypark, Hersheypark Arena, and Hersheypark Stadium operations
• Complete work in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Three years of verifiable work experience in the Carpentry trade (Completion of trade school related training will be considered in lieu of one year of work experience)
• This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam
• This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of shop machines and hand tools
• Basic knowledge of trade materials and carpentry procedures
• Ability to pass a written and verbal trade test
• Ability to work without constant direction and supervision

Job Demands

• Must be able to supply own hand tools
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. safely
• Must have the ability to climb and work at heights in excess of 100 feet
• 20% of work will be completed in the carpentry shop, while 80% is completed on-site throughout the Hershey Entertainment Complex
• Able to operate special equipment such as a fork truck, dump truck, high reach, air compressor, and other related equipment
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• This is a Union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours
